Florence Church Safety Seminar @ IPHC Conference Center, Lake City
Saturday June 2nd at 10:00 am to 12:00 noon

The recent tragic church shootings in Texas, Tennessee and South Carolina, many pastors and church leaders are wondering if they are doing enough to ensure the safety of their congregation and security of their facilities.  During this seminar we will look at the critical components for the development of a safety and medical program as well as key points on improving those programs through training, policies and collaboration.

There will be a church safety-security seminar at the IPHC Conference Center located at 620 S Ron McNair Blvd, Lake City, SC 29560 on June 2nd, 2018, for clergy and others in church leadership.  Jason Cansler and Marshall Shannon of the Rochester Insurance representing Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company, will discuss topics that will include creating a safety plan, essentials for having an effective security team, and legal issues. There will also be a question/answer session.

This free seminar will take place from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at IPHC Conference Center in Lake City South Carolina.Marshall Shannon joined Rochester Insurance as an agent in 2017 and has previously served as a pastor for over 18 years in SC and a church consultant serving churches around the country with their ministry and facility needs. He has been married to his wife for over 35 years and they have 2 married sons and 5 grandchildren.  Jason Cansler serves as safety and medical director of Westgate Baptist Church and School (WBCS) in Spartanburg. Prior to starting the security program at WBCS, Cansler has also served as a security team member at Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley SC. He serves as a consultant for Rochester Insurance with a focus on church security startups and development. Cansler has accumulated more than 13 years of experience in the security field, including six years as a decorated reserve law enforcement officer, two years as a South Carolina State Constable and more than five years as armed security officer licensed by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
